Career

Regina made her acting debut as a young performer in V. Priya’s Tamil love film Kanda Naal Mudhal (2005). She was 14 years old at the time, and she portrayed Latha, the protagonist’s pregnant sister. After that, she starred in the low-key Tamil film Azhagiya Asura (2005). Though the film received excellent critical praise, it did not garner much notice, and Regina chose to take a hiatus from acting to continue her degree. Her break was characterized by appearances in short films like Balaji Mohan’s Kadahalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi (2005).

Suryakaanti, directed by K.M Chaitanya, paired her with actor Chetan in 2010. The worldwide assassin action thriller was a mediocre box office hit. Regina then acted in Shiva Manashulo Shruti, a Telugu love comedy (2012). She also won her first award, the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debutant, for the film, which was a remake of Siva Manasula Sakthi (2009). Following that, she appeared in the film Routine Love Story opposite actor Sundeep Kishan (2012).

In 2013, she appeared in two Tamil films: Pandiraj’s Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga (2013) and Nirnayam, a drama (2013).

Regina’s attention shifted back to Telugu the next year, and she was cast in the comedy Kotha Janta (2014). The film, directed by Maruthi, was a box office success, and Regina’s performance was praised by the newspaper Deccan Chronicle, which dubbed her the “star of the picture.”

Regina also starred in the action-comedy Power that same year (2014). The film was a critical and commercial triumph, becoming one of the year’s biggest blockbusters.
