Nude Olivia Hussey Biography
Olivia Hussey is an actress from England. Hussey was cast as Juliet in Franco Zeffirelli’s film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet after playing on stage in London. Her performance earned her a Golden Globe and the David di Donatello Award, as well as international acclaim. In 1974, she played Jess Bradford, the primary heroine in the cult horror film Black Christmas. This performance, as well as her following roles in horror films, earned her the moniker “scream queen.” She featured in John Guillermin’s Agatha Christie adaption Death on the Nile and rejoined with Zeffirelli in the miniseries Jesus of Nazareth as Mary, Jesus’ mother. Throughout the 1980s, she acted in a number of foreign films, including the Japanese Picture Virus and the Australian horror flick Turkey Shoot. She starred in two made-for-TV horror films, Psycho IV: The Beginning and Stephen King’s It, both of which premiered in 1990.
Career
Olivia Hussey played Juliet in Franco Zeffirelli’s Romeo and Juliet at the age of 15 when youngest ladies are fostering romantic fantasies (1968). Her portrayal in one of the most famous characters ever written in the English language earned her a Golden Globe and two consecutive Best Actor Donatello Awards (Italy’s Oscar equivalent), an extraordinary triumph for an actor who had only made three films.
Olivia may owe her “title” to her “exotic” combination; her father was Argentinian and her mother was of English and Scottish descent, making her one of the most beautiful women in the world. Her father, Andreas Osuna, alias Isvaldo Ribo, a renowned Argentine opera and tango singer, was her father, while her English mother encouraged her early inclinations for the performing arts. She went to England with her mother and younger brother when she was seven years old, where she spent the following five years attending acting school. She went on to play “Jenny” in “Jean Brodie” after that. Zeffirelli first noticed her in that stage play. She cast Olivia after auditioning over 500 other young girls for the role of Juliet, and the rest, as they say, is history.
She returned to work after taking some well-deserved time off to raise her little daughter, India Joy and starred in two back-to-back films. The first, El Grito (2000) (known in the United States as “Bloody Proof”), was shot in Mexico City and required her to perform the part bilingually, using her native Spanish. Olivia portrays the town nudist in Judy Hecht Dumontet’s comedy Tortilla Heaven (2007), which was written and directed by Sundance Film Festival winner Judy Hecht Dumontet.
Olivia just fulfilled a lifelong ambition by portraying Mother Teresa of Calcutta in Mother Teresa of Calcutta, a film shot entirely on location in Sri Lanka and Italy. The Sisters of Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity welcomed her performance with open arms when it was screened for them in Italy.
